Racegoers Ready to Dance The Night Away at Naas Barbecue Evening

A total field of 14 high quality fillies will contest Wednesday’s renewal of the Yeomanstown Stud Irish EBF Stakes as the ever popular barbecue evenings continue at Naas Racecourse.

The feature contest has attracted a strong line-up for the €50,000 contest and after a successful weekend for British-trained runners at The Curragh, William Haggas and David O’Meara saddle two of the runners.

Haggas has booked Chris Hayes for Pinafore, while Danny Tudhope comes over to ride Nighteyes for O’Meara.
The Willie McCreery-trained Amazon Lady is the joint highest rated of the 14 runners and seeks a hat-trick of victories having impressed in the Rockingham last month.

Four course and distance winners will contest Wednesday’s Yeomanstown Stud Irish EBF Stakes with local trainer Ross O’Sullivan looking forward to saddling Dance Night Andday.

O’Sullivan’s Dance Night Andday is a three-time winner in total and ran well in defeat at the Curragh on Derby weekend.
“Dance Night Annday is in good form and we are looking to going to Naas,” O’Sullivan said. “Peter Jones is a local owner to Naas and this filly has been a great servant for him. She has good form at Naas and won well since at the Curragh and we were delighted with her again at the Curragh when she stepped up in trip. She loves nice ground so we are hoping she will run well.”

Little Queenie, National Lady and Over The Blues are the other course and distance winners, while another interesting entry is the Noel Meade-trained Letherfly who is set to have her second start since winning on debut last season.

Along with National Lady, Ger Lyons also saddles Apricot Ice who herself as won her last two starts. Adrian Murray has obtained Ben Coen to ride Majestic Beauty, while Michael O’Callaghan saddles Navassa Island.

Racegoers will also be treated to a very interesting looking edition of the Arqana Irish Marwell Stakes. Some smashing juveniles feature among the 10-strong field with Naas winners Amazing Athena, Make Haste and Merrily all returning for the €50,000 contest.

Racing gets underway at 4.45pm with the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Maiden and also features the NFP Handicap in which local rider Sorcha Woods rides top weight Collective Power for trainer Eddie Lynam.
