TV Personality, Anna Daly announced as Naas Racecourse’s Ladies Day Celebrity Fashion Judge
Glamorous television personality Anna Daly has been unveiled as the official style ambassador for the Naas Racecourse Ladies Day which will be taking place on Royal Ascot Trials Day, Sunday May 20th.
The TV3 presenter, known for her work on the Saturday AM and Sunday AM shows, was on hand to officially launch one of the biggest fashion events of the racing calendar, on Wednesday morning May 2nd at a glamourous fashion brunch in Kildare Village.
It was also revealed that the theme of the day will be ‘A touch of Royal Ascot’, which is certainly in vogue now due to the upcoming nuptials between Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, and the recent birth of Prince William’s and Kate Middleton’s Royal Baby, Prince Louis.
A prize befitting of royalty will also be on offer for the Best Dressed Lady on Royal Ascot Trials Day, with the winner granted an overnight stay in the historic Palmerstown Manor House with 19 of her friends or family, which will also include dinner for all guests. If that wasn’t enough, the prize also includes a €1,000 shopping spree in Kildare Village, home to some of the world’s most luxurious and exciting fashion brands.
Style ambassador Anna Daly will be joined on the judging panel by Klara Heron, Acting Editor at Irish Country Magazine, and Anna Fortune of the Kildare Post Newspaper.
The Naas Racecourse Ladies Day launch at Kildare Village attracted a healthy crowd of milliners, stylists, fashionistas and journalists. Models Sarah Tansey and Kelly Horrigan showcased some of the upcoming styles that will be popular among racegoers this summer, featuring some great looks from Kildare Village which were styled by Natalie Svilke.
Six fabulous fashion looks from Kildare Village were matched with some exquisite hats provided by milliner, Aoife Harrison.
Meanwhile, Anna Daly’s hair and makeup for the launch event was created by Neeba Hair & Beauty in Newbridge, who will have their own beauty zone at Naas Racecourse on Ladies Day.
It is another big day of flat racing at Naas Racecourse on Sunday May 20th, as this is one of the feature events of the year at the track. The Royal Ascot Trials Day provides the perfect opportunity for preparation ahead of the Royal Ascot meeting in June, where some of Ireland’s best young horses are set to compete against each other.
Speaking at the launch, style ambassador Anna Daly said; “It is a great privilege to be working with Naas Racecourse on their Spring Summer Ladies Day this year, and I’m looking forward to seeing some of the brilliant styles that are sure to be on display.
“I really like the fact that Naas Racecourse are going with a Touch of Royal Ascot theme, so ladies could really take their inspiration from the new glamorous young Royals. With the wedding of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry coming up, and the birth of the new Royal Baby, it’s the perfect time to Royal fashion watch!
“From the classic elegance of Kate Middleton to the youthful style of Meghan Markle, the new Royals are starting a fashion revolution all by themselves.
“I have always been a keen follower of racing fashion, and Naas Racecourse is undoubtedly one of the best places to see a mixture of vibrant and colourful styles.
“I’ll be eyeing up some of the best summer looks and hopefully the weather will stay good on the day to ensure everyone can show off their very best outfits without worrying about the rain. The prize on offer for the best dressed lady is absolutely fantastic, as Palmerstown House Estate is a stunning location and Kildare Village is a great place to spend a few hours shopping.”
Jackie Donohoe, Sales & Marketing Manager at Naas Racecourse, stated; “We are very much so looking forward to hosting Ladies Day in association with Kildare Village and Palmerstown House Estate on Royal Ascot Trials Day. We encourage all ladies to embrace the Royal Ascot theme and those who enter will receive a glass of Pims, keeping in line with the Royal Ascot experience. On the track we hope to see some top-class racing from Royal Ascot hopefuls. Last year the Group 3 Lacken Stakes winner Caravaggio went on to Royal Ascot glory winning the Group 1 Commonwealth Cup.”
Admission on the day is €15 per person, registration for Ladies Day is free of charge. Ladies Day registration will take place at the Ladies Pavilion located beside the parade ring from 1pm-3pm. Those who enter will be treated to a complimentary glass of Pims. First race of the day is at 2.05pm.
