Racing with Mary
Mary Dooley, Director of Dooley Insurance Group, is no stranger to the parade ring. A proud local sponsor of both Punchestown and Naas Racecourse, Mary brings a blend of community spirit, business savvy, and timeless style to every race day.
We caught up with her ahead of Dooley Insurance Group’s sponsored race here at Naas on Wednesday, 25th June, the opening night of our Summer Season.
Racing & Sponsorship
1. Dooley Insurance Group is a long-time supporter of racing - what inspired you to get involved in the sport as a sponsor?
As a family business, we have always loved racing and insure a number of racecourses, so it's good to give back to our clients and the communities.
2. What does sponsoring a race at Naas Racecourse mean to you personally and professionally?
Personally, it's very close to my heart - I grew up next to Naas Racecourse and came here many times as a child.
3. You’re also a major supporter of Punchestown. How do you decide which events or race meetings to get behind?
Naas and Punchestown are our local courses. We like the popular meetings where there's a great atmosphere and lots of people.
4. From your perspective, what role does local sport play in building community spirit and connection?
Local sport plays a very strong role in building communities. We also sponsor Naas Rugby and Soccer Club, Naas and Newbridge Golf Clubs, and many other clubs. Our sponsorships reflect our dedication to fostering a vibrant, healthy, and connected community.

No, never too far in advance - it’s weather dependent and also mood dependent! I generally go with the flow.
