Sip, Save, Sustain: Naas Racecourse Introduces Reusable Cups
Naas Racecourse, in collaboration with its catering partner Lily & Wild, is proud to announce a new sustainability initiative in partnership with Eco-Friendly Cups. As part of a shared commitment to reducing environmental impact, Naas Racecourse is eliminating all single-use plastic cups and introducing a reusable cup system at its race meetings.
Naas Racecourse is proud to be the first racecourse in Ireland to introduce reusable cups, setting a new sustainability standard for the industry.
Under this new initiative, racegoers will pay a âĴ2 deposit for a reusable cup, which will be fully refunded upon return. This system aims to significantly cut down on waste while encouraging responsible and sustainable practices among visitors.
Additionally, Naas Racecourse is excited to join the Re-turn âReturn for Childrenâ initiative, a nationwide charity fundraising effort. This means that the 15c deposit from returned bottles and cans will directly support six national childrenâs charities, ensuring that every contribution makes a meaningful difference.
Aidan McGarry, General Manager of Naas Racecourse, commented:Â âAt Naas Racecourse, we are always striving to be leaders in the industry, and this initiative with Eco-Friendly Cups and Lily & Wild is a fantastic step forward in our commitment to sustainability. By becoming the first racecourse in Ireland to introduce reusable cups, we are setting a new standard for the industry and proactively reducing our environmental impact. This initiative will not only help cut down on waste but also encourage responsible practices among our racegoers, creating a greener future for everyone."
Kevin Walsh, Lily & Wildâs Managing Director, added:Â âAs a company dedicated to sustainability, we are delighted to be working with Naas Racecourse and Eco-Friendly Cups to introduce this initiative. This change will have a positive impact on the environment while enhancing the race day experience.â
Eco-Friendly Cups, a leader in sustainable drinkware solutions, is dedicated to providing high-quality reusable cups that help businesses and venues transition away from disposable plastics.
This initiative will be rolled out from The Flat is Back on Sunday, 23rd March, ensuring that racegoers can immediately take part in this environmentally friendly change. Visitors can look forward to enjoying their race day experience while knowing they are actively contributing to a greener future and a charitable cause.
