Maria took home a beautiful Raymond Weil watch worth €2,250 thanks to Hugh Statham Jewellers. She wore a fabulous Just In Case candy coat from Elaine Curtis Boutique, a stunning headpiece from Faith Almond complimented by a vintage fur and Carvela nude shoes. Celebrity Judge and fashion stylist Marietta Doran, was all eyes on the style and the fashionistas of the day alongside co-judging partner Anna Fortune.  Both judges had the difficult task of choosing the winner from such a high quality turnout on the day. A delighted Maria Byrne said: “I am delighted to win winter ladies day at Naas Races. This is the first time I’ve ever dressed up for this kind of competition; I never dreamed I’d actually win.” The Hugh Statham Jewellers Winter Ladies day was the first ladies day of 2016 and it produced an abundance of high quality fashion in those taking part. The four lucky runners-up were congratulated with a luxury VIP day to Naas Races and a beautiful silver pendent necklace from Hugh Statham Jewellers. Tom Ryan, Manager of Naas racecourse said: “We are absolutely thrilled with the day, every aspect of it was a resounding success. This was the first ladies day of the season at Naas and we are already looking forward to our next ladies day in May. In the meantime, we look forward to our remaining pre-Cheltenham meetings in the coming weeks and our upcoming development project with huge optimism.” A new record attendance of 5,578 was set at Naas Racecourse on Sunday where the crowds came out in their droves to enjoy Grade 1 National Hunt action. The Grade 1 honours went the way of Bellshill in the Lawlor's Hotel Novice Hurdle for the in-form team of Andrea and Graham Wylie, Willie Mullins and Ruby Walsh. Bellshill lived up to the expectations that his starting price of 2/5 implied, staying on well to win by an authoritative five lengths.
